One of the best things about adulthood is a lot of my friends are having babies.. which means I get to make baby quilts for them! Babies are the perfect excuse to make a quilt – cute prints, soft fabric, and since they’re small, it’s a great way to try a new pattern. And they come together super quick, which makes it easier to achieve a completion goal! 😉
Fabric: Kona Cotton solids
Pattern: a gingham/checkered style that I’ve been eyeing up on Pinterest!
Started: Summer 2018; Finished: Summer 2018
This quilt went to a fellow CrossFitter and friend, and I’m always so thankful that I found that community. More on that later, maybe.
I did a bit of sleuthing and found out she was having a girl, and liked the colour purple.. so I decided to really amp up the purple theme with this quilt. And the flannel backing was so soft and cozy, I actually used it to back my Halloween quilt as well!
Fun fact: as I was photographing this quilt in the park, a random man called me over to his car (!!) and asked me if I sell my quilts. I told him I don’t, and he mentioned that I really should. Uhm.. thanks, random stranger! At the moment, I quilt for myself and as gifts, but we never know what the future might bring!
