“It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan” – Eleanor Roosevelt.
This is definitely the perfect time to debut this quilt. So many plans have changed, the entire world has been flipped upside down… and all we can do is roll with it.

Pattern: Flight Plan by Shannon Fraser Designs
Fabric: Alto Artisan* by Kaffe Fassett Studio for Free Spirit Fabrics
Started: Spring/Summer 2019
Finished: Winter 2020
Ever since I started quilting, I have been dying to use a fabric collection from Kaffe Fassett. I ordered the Alto Artisan bundle from Fat Quarter Shop and as soon as I saw Shannon’s cover quilt for her Flight Plan pattern, I knew it would be perfect. I love it when crazy, bright patterns come together to make a wonderful quilt!
If you know me, then you know I love a good product story. I absolutely thrive on knowing the background details about things – why were they invented? what was the inspiration behind them? is there a deeper meaning to the name?
Shannon’s Flight Plan quilt pattern was inspired by the fact that life doesn’t always go as planned. Sometimes we go forward, other times backwards, but we usually always end up where we need to be.
My entire last year and a half has definitely not gone according to ANY plan, so this quilt is a nice reminder that things will all end up the way they’re supposed to in the end. You just have to look at the bigger, more colourful picture!!
